Central Marine have established itself as one of the leading privately owned repair facilities in Hampshire, and take great pride in our reliability and the quality of service we offer.
We specialize in all aspects of Marine / Ship Welding, Fabrication, Engineering, Engine fitting/Repairs, Electrical Installations/Repairs, Electric Motor Rewinding/Ancillary Repairs, and Protective Coatings. Our workshop facilities are conveniently situated close to the docks, giving us a very fast response time to any situation within the Southampton & Porstmouth areas.
Some of our major contracts have been: the biennial refits on the 28,000-tonne S.S. Gopher State and the 60,000-tonne M.V. American Cormorant American Government supply ships, please see our gallery for related images.
The scope of work has included - The replacement of main engine liners, (Man B&W), The rebuilding of 3 x Bergen Auxiliary Generators, a large quantity of pipe-work up to 800mm diameter, Servicing and replacement of valves / pumps, major fabrication to salt water ballast tanks, and the refurbishment of evaporators / condensers.
